The strap is 1 3/8" wide, cut from bull hide tanned at the Horween Leather Company in Chicago. The leather has real heft with a soft hand, so it is comfortable from the first wearing rather than stiff. The buckle is solid brass with an antique brass finish. Bull hide ages well, so the color deepens and the surface takes on a patina with use.
Care is simple. Keep it dry, wipe off dirt with a dry cloth, and condition the leather occasionally to keep it supple. Hang or roll it rather than folding the strap.
