About this pair
Read the full descriptionHide the full description
It's for anyone who wants one belt that holds up for years instead of a department store belt that cracks in a season. It pairs with jeans and chinos, and the width was chosen to fit Dearborn Denim belt loops.
The leather is bull hide tanned at the Horween Leather Company in Chicago. It has a lot of heft but a soft hand, so it's comfortable from the start rather than stiff. The strap is 1 3/8" wide. The buckle is solid brass with an antique brass finish. Bull hide ages well, taking on color and character where it creases and where the buckle sits.
Care is simple. Keep it out of standing water, let it dry on its own if it gets wet, and wipe off dirt with a dry cloth. Expect the leather to soften and expand over time, roughly one notch.
Sizing: Order the same size belt as your Dearborn Denim jeans. Since the leather will give about a notch with wear, you'll want to start in the middle hole rather than the last one.
Most orders ship within 1 business day. Free shipping on orders over $150, and 30-day returns.

The leather is good. The color is dignified. The hardware is solid. The size worked out right by following directions. I only wish I'd realized that the hardware is riveted into place. Because of that I can't swap out the buckle for one I already have. Hope I get good reliability out of it the way it is!

Nice leather. Good buckle. About the size I was expecting. I wish the literature on the site had been clear that you can't swap out the buckle. I've a collection of those and I enjoy using them. This belt is only for days when the factory buckle will do. Oh well...
