Do customers want a perfect length or a 'it works fine' length? That’s why we hem every order to length.
First, what is hem to order?
At Dearborn Denim, we simply hem all our jeans to length before we ship. So, you’re not ordering general sizes that are meant to fit everyone - you’re ordering the length that fits YOU.
Well, we want happy customers who come back and buy more jeans.
The longevity of this business depends on that fact. Happy jean purchasers are happy because they have a pair of jeans that “FIT PERFECT”.
There are a lot of factors that go into a great fit, but the two variant measurements people have a choice about are:
Mass manufacturing wants to offer as few variants as possible because it’s easier to make one thing in mass - rather than multiple variants. The problem with their approach: Human beings come in a wide variety of sizes and heights.
They usually compromise with even sizes/lengths (30, 32, 34, 36, 38 ect.) The strategy of limiting to even sizing provides fewer variant combinations. Retail likes this - because they don’t have deal with as much inventory and as many SKU’s, which means less sales forecasting + less capital + less out of stock + less sales rack inefficiencies + less work.
Dearborn Denim is an apparel manufacturer designed for direct to you sales - via the internet (with a couple storefronts in Chicago). We’ve built our business around efficiently receiving your order, hemming your jeans, and shipping within a few business days.
We’re still very much a startup, so we don’t always meet or exceed these expectations, but everyday we’re optimizing our efficiencies while seeking a quality environment for our employees and a pride in our products.
Machines and skill are just a few steps away from design and planning. Everything done under one roof, in Chicago - as opposed to larger apparel companies that make their products on one side of the globe to sell on the other.
Do customers want a “great fit” or a “fits fine” pair of jeans? That’s why we hem every order to length, and offer both odd & even sizes.
Hoping to earn Dearborn Lifers one perfect pair at a time.

Shipping is delayed due to much higher than anticipated order volume over the holiday weekend.
Expect shipping delays of 5 to 10 business days for jeans. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
We are working hard to get caught up as quickly as possible.
Belts and gift cards are still shipping within standard times.

Your points should instantly update once you complete a promotion!
Nope! Your points will never expire.
When you return an item, you lose the associated credit you originally earned by buying the item in the first place. Sound kind of confusing? Let's run through an example: say you spent $50 towards a 'spend $100, earn 100 points' promotion, and you decide to buy a $20 item, which bumps you up to $70. If you decide to return that item, your progress would also go back down to $50 - it's just like you hadn't bought the item in the first place.
Our team is ready and waiting to answer your questions. Just shoot us a message on our contact page. PS make sure to choose “I have a question about my rewards” dropdown on our contact form.
From time to time, you'll receive program-related emails from us. If you'd prefer to not receive those types of emails anymore, just click the 'Unsubscribe' button when you receive your next email.
